Dr. (Prof.) Arvind Kumar

Dr. (Prof.) Arvind Kumar is a thoracic (chest) surgeon and Chairman of the Institute of Chest Surgery, Chest Onco-Surgery and Lung Transplantation at Medanta — The Medicity. The Medanta page credits him with over 15,000 thoracic surgeries, including more than 8,000 by minimally invasive (VATS) and robotic methods, and describes him as leading the country's most comprehensive chest surgery programme. His published expertise includes robotic thymectomy, VATS key-hole surgery for lung cancer, tracheal resections, and surgery for thymoma and mediastinal tumours. He received the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award in 2014 and was National President of the Association of Surgeons of India in 2019.
