Dr. Naresh Trehan is one of India's most respected cardiothoracic surgeons, with more than 50 years of clinical experience and over 50,000 cardiac operations performed personally. Before founding Medanta in 2009, he served as the executive director of Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre. He pioneered minimally invasive valve repair and beating-heart bypass techniques in the region, and has been recognised with India's two highest civilian honours, the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.
